Santtu Mustonen
Animation, Ceramics, Illustration, Installation, Painting, Sculpture

Santtu Mustonen is a Finland-based artist working across sculpture, painting, and movement. His work explores themes of suspense, excitement, distortion, and the surreal, drawing inspiration from organic patterns and moving images. Santtu combines handcrafted and analog textures with digital processes, creating visually rich work that lives fluidly between physical and digital space.
He animates select paintings and visual elements using a range of tools to alter spatial perception and enhance a sense of motion within his work. This approach allows his imagery to translate seamlessly across formats, from motion based projects to spatial and experiential applications. Currently, Santtu is developing new methods and expanding his practice into tangible sculptural forms, working with materials such as ceramics and glass.
